Role and Contribution

Research activities relating to this Project will take place at the Laboratory of Virology and Molecular Biology situated in the General Microbiology and Virology Section of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Technologies. Paolo La Colla’s group has been involved in several Programmes related to drug discovery for many years ; among these programmes are two European Projects, “Microbicides” and “Flavitherapeutics”. The research team comprises 16 experienced scientists, 12 young researchers, 1 technical staff, 10 post-graduate fellows, 26 internship students and 3 administrative staff. Main research objectives are the design, in vitro evaluation and mode of action studies of antiviral, antimicrobial and antiproliferative agents.
